Install and First Launch

System Requirements

  • macOS 12.0 or later
  • Permission to perform system network configuration operations
  • Accessibility permission in System Settings if global shortcuts are enabled

Installation

  1. Download the DMG for your Mac chip:
  2. Open the DMG.
  3. Drag NetScene.app into the Applications folder.
  4. Launch NetScene from Applications.

NetScene is a menu bar app. It does not show a traditional main window after launch. Find the NetScene icon in the macOS menu bar.

If macOS Blocks the App

If the current download has not completed Developer ID signing and notarization, macOS may say it cannot verify the developer.

You can run this command in Terminal:

bash
xattr -cr /Applications/NetScene.app

Then open the app again.

If a later release is signed and notarized, this command is usually not required.

First Configuration

On first launch, NetScene creates a default rule named NetScene so the menu bar does not show only an unknown state.

Open "Configure Rules" from the menu bar to edit the default rule or add your own scene rules.

NetScene is a macOS network scene automation tool.
