Network Rules

Network rules are the core of NetScene. Each rule describes one complete network scene.

Rule Names

Use real scene names that are easy to recognize:

• Office
• Home proxy
• Client site
• Production
• Test network

Rule names appear in the menu bar and rule list.

Wi-Fi Settings

Each rule can set the Wi-Fi on or off state.

If you enter an SSID, NetScene tries to connect to that Wi-Fi when switching rules.

Use \ to separate multiple SSIDs:

Office-5G\Office-Backup\Client-WiFi

This is useful when:

• One place has primary and backup Wi-Fi.
• A company has multiple bands or access points.
• You often switch between several fixed hotspots.

Network Services

NetScene reads currently available macOS network services, such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB adapters.

Each service can configure:

• Enable or disable
• IP mode
• DNS mode

IP Modes

Mode	Description
Do not change	Do not modify current IP settings when switching rules
DHCP	Get IP automatically via DHCP
Manual	Use specified IP, subnet mask, and router

Manual IP is useful for client sites, device debugging, and dedicated fixed-network environments.

DNS Modes

Mode	Description
Do not change	Do not modify DNS when switching rules
Automatic	Use DNS provided by the system or DHCP
Manual	Use DNS servers you enter

Multiple DNS servers can be entered by line or according to the app interface prompt.

Batch Selection

The rule list supports multi-selection with Command or Shift.

After selecting multiple rules, you can directly:

• Delete
• Duplicate

This is useful for quickly organizing similar rules.
